The Joe Davis 109 Cue, made by ThurstonsDescription:
The Joe Davis 109 cues would have been made shortly after he hit that break in Jan 1933. Like many of Joe's breaks in this era it did not last long as his best, beaten by his break of 114 in mar 1933. Only standing as his record for a mere two months, this is a rare cue with few examples seen made by either Thurston's or Peradon. This cue is ash shafted with hand spliced ebony butt and birdseye maple front splice - playable too! I finally picked up this cue some five months after I was first offered it, and turned it down.
Length: 58.00inches, weighing 17.00ounces.
Cue diameters: 10.90mm at the tip, 13.30mm at 12in, and 31.00mm at the butt.
